Rumba and flamenco, the traditional genres of his Spanish home region, ran in his blood. But also, contemporary indie and pop sounds caught his fancy. Like ROSALÍA and C. Tangana, Guitarricadelafuente - his highly literal moniker - was soon connecting classic traditions to modern moods, building a fetching musical world. A countrywide tour playing small bars and clubs was a chance to build his live performance muscles. Now Guitarricadelafuente has emerged from lockdown as a fully formed artist: his music videos are stirring and scenic slices of everyday life, and his ephemeral soundscapes continue to pull and stretch boundaries.
